USA!!!! but if not go with Australia!!!! middle east sucks!
2 :
US can be good but also hard because you will have to find out what is necessary to be a certified nurse there as they do have different standards. I know of several who moved from Australia, Canada and UK to the US and then had to do a lot more recertification and college courses than if they had gone to another Commonwealth country. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Dubai all could be good options for you depending on what you want.

There is always a demand for nurses in Singapore. There are 2 main healthcare groups under which all the government hospitals and polyclinics fall under: National Healthcare Group: http://www.nhg.com.sg/ SingHealth: http://www.singhealth.com.sg/ Look under 'Join Us' in the respective websites and search for Nursing positions. They list the requirements.

Hi there, I am a Singaporean from Singapore. To be a nurse here first and very foremost your nursing practice MUST BE recognized and accepted by our medical councils here. Singapore is among the very top few in the world with world class health care system and has very high expectations from its staff. To be here you need a good qualification (recognized) and an APPROVED visa. The expectations here are very high. If you think that you have the ability or is capable then by all means try your best to apply here.
3 :
Higher education - Perhaps Get a job - depends on your expectations and why you want to come to Singapore. If you are expecting a wonderful and relaxed life like what they have shown in the movies then forget about it. SG has wonderful infra but the people are not that great and they are great at demeaning the service staff and giving a tough time. On the otherhand the cost of living is very high and salary is not that great with little career progression in your line of career. So make a informed decision.

Yes you are being scammed.
2 :
Yes you are paying someone to do the hard work for you. There are filipino nurses that come here and just find a job. Some apply for the pre-acceptance visa. They have very much sucess because employers are interested in those who can solve problems and do for them selves. The can't do lot pay agents and have a one in two chance for success. Hint: Yahoo Answers is not an indication of problem solving skills
3 :
That's certainly a lot. I don' think there are any rules 'governing' these so called agencies. So it't based on supply & demand rather than legitimacy. If you are confidant on your skills and have good experience, you can approach the hospitals/group directly. But note the cost of living in Singapore is extremely high and think twice before committing yourself.

You can always send in your resume via email or snail mail to the local hospitals here, thereby they will arrange an interview with you so you have to make a trip here. If you are coming in, you can apply for a social visit pass when you come in as a tourist. The hospital will arrange the necessary papers for you once your job is confirmed.

Is it difficult to work as a nurse internationally

Is it difficult to work as a nurse internationally?
I want to become an R.N. who works in the O.R. I am just compiling my options and I thought of the idea of working internationally, preferable an Asian country such as Singapore, Korea, Japan, etc, for the experience of living in a different country. How difficult would this be for someone? Can it be done right out of college? Would it be advisable to do so? as in work internationally for a couple of years (about 2-3, maybe more) then move back to the US? Is it hard to find work in a different country? How would one go about to finding a job in a different country? Do you have to move there first, or somehow land the job at home? Thank you for any information you can contribute.
Health Care - 2 Answers

1 :
How you do this would depend on each individual country but first & foremost you would need experience. Then you would need to get a working visa which can be extremely hard to get. YOu could not just go to the country without one and look for work. You would also need to speak the language unless they spoke english, I doubt they would speak a foreign language just for you to understand & you would have to know medical terms in the foreign language as well as well as different drug names etc. Become a nurse first, get a few years experience & then see what is available. Things may be much different in 6+ years for you.
2 :
Diane is right, you will need experience as an RN berfore you can do such a thing. at least 1-3 years of experience will enable you to figure out what you want to do. there are carreers in travel nursing that you may want to consider too.

My front tooth just fell out, and I've had some sort of professional advice. What now

My front tooth just fell out, and I've had some sort of professional advice. What now?
I was playing basketball at about 1 hour ago, and my friend, when trying to get the rebound, elbowed me face when he landed. It wasn't painful, but my front tooth fell out. THE WHOLE ROOT. So, I've tried finding a polyclinic/private clinic/dentist but it seems to be closed until about 2 more hours. Then I called my friend's mother who works as a dental nurse. She said that I would get temporary dentures and possibly an implant when I'm older. So my question is: Will that hurt? And how much do they cost? I live in Singapore, btw. Thanks for all help. :)

You have not mentioned your age, but i assume you to be above 6 years with permanent teeth. You can keep the tooth in saline (available from drug store) or milk until you meet the dentist. There are 3 options as I can see. 1. The dentist will perform a root canal treatment for the tooth that has fallen out and then replace it back into the socket from where it fell. Then he will stabilize it by placing a thin wire on the inner side. 2. Implant planning as your friend's mother has adivsed 3. Dental bridge wherein the tooth is replaced with a cap
2 :
The best thing would be to have an implant, but you need to get a doctor to look at it for you. Good luck!

First you will need to apply for a job in Australia, and you can search through goggle on job search in http://www.careerone.com.au/sa-jobs/science, and there are many more just type in your job type. Then when once you have confirmed a job, apply for visa and get information on housing and so on. Listen computer today has made everything so simple, and you have information on your fingertips. Just the matter of getting the courage to get started.

If your son is classed as disabled you might have a problem - you will need to prove that he will not be a burden on society (not require any medical or social help etc). A friend of my fathers was refused entry from the UK because of a deaf child, despite bringing in over 500K with him, it wasn't enough for the authorities to prove he would be supported for the rest of his life..
3 :
There is a possibility you might be denied residency - there was a recent case in the news about a German doctor who had moved to Australia to work in a rural town. He has a child with Down Syndrome and his application for PR was not approved because they deemed the child a burden on the health care system. Health care is free in Australia to citizens and PRs. Because of the outrage it provoked, they were later allowed to stay. In any case, I can understand where you're coming from. You never know until you try. All the best. Please help, I am confused

Please help, I am confused!!!?
I am working here in Saudi Arabia as a nurse receiving 3,000+ Saudi Riyals monthly, even if the salary is not as high as compared to other countires, work is comfortable, which I prefer to because I am planning to have a baby next year.. House, food, electricity, water, medicines are free.. I am having a satisying life here in KSA actually, but, my soon-to-be-husband wants us to migrate in Australia.. This gives me worries, especially about the things that we might encounter there.. I browsed a lot of websites about australian immigration and started to search about the lives of nurses there. What I've known is I have the possiblity to acquire a working visa, but less chance because they prefer UK and Singapore licensed nurses, but If I really want to enter Aussie immediately I can apply for Student Visa and study for 18mos in a university to qualify to their standards which requires me to prepare 11,000 AUSD(a big which until now I don't know how to raise up this money, maybe I'll seek rescue from my rich relatives)... What really bothers me are the following: 1. Is there a big chance for me to get a job as a nurse in the hospital after finishing my studies in university and spending huge money? 2. I am afraid to leave my comfortable job here in Saudi Arabia and go to Australia with no assurance that I can secure a job in the hospital... I hope those nurses who came from Saudi Arabia and went to Aussie for the same reason of searching a greener pasteur can share some experiences and help make things clear for me... Please give me some insights and comparison between living in Saudi Arabia and Australia.. Thanks a lot..

G'day, I understand your worry and I would have the same feeling as well if I am placed in your shoes (and I'm a male). Wow... I cannot imagine living without have to worry abt mortgage, food, utilities bills and medical expenses. However, I guess there are no perfect place and one of the reason why your future husband would like to emigrate. This is what I can inform you: 1. There's big demand for nursing job in Australia, that's one thing for sure. Every nursing courses in Australian universities are always jam-packed with both Australian and international students, seeking for quick job acceptance after graduated and quite good pays. So in that sense you do not have to worry. As there are job placements in the course, all senior hospital administrator would have notice all good potential students already and may offer contract/permanent job placement even before you complete your study (of course, if you are good). However, it is possible that you got a job sooner than your husband. 2. If you may already be a fully registered nurse then you do not have to take a full bachelor degree course (3yrs). Some universities in Australia actually offer a course to accommodate fully registered overseas nurse. Sample of course is in the link below. It is shorter and cheaper. 3. If your husband already got Permanent Residence (PR), and you are already married to him, then you will get a PR as well, so you do not need working or student visa to come to Australia. Now... of course as you might already known, Australians do not have those "free" things that you got in KSA, however there may be other things that you might not be able to enjoy in KSA. Lots of my friends who have worked in Asia like Japan, HK or S'pore told me that they can spend more time with their family in Australia compared to when they were working in those countries. However please be prepared when you want to have a baby, as you may not be able to enlist the helps of your relatives and you will rely on you & your husband to look after the baby. Please discuss this first with your husband, as he REALLY has to help you with looking after babies, even though he still has to work. FYI, new mum in Australia can have 12months maternity leaves. I have gone thru raising baby by just me & my wife and I can tell you, it really test the strength of our relationships. If you do not get much responds from the ppl in this area, I suggest you re-post your question in Travel-Australia in Yahoo Answer as the area are visited by plenty of Australians and who knows, someone who were in you position read your question and able to give you better answer than I am :) Hope this helps. If you got more questions you want to ask me feel free to e-mail me on mikegun(at)studentfirst.com.au. Good luck.

My question to you is why aren't you asking or posing this to your husband to be? Its not about you and the baby only but if he is a man to marry then you need to figure all this out with him and see what the plan is...besides its not all about him either now is it? he should be reading this and i hope he does so he can know how you really see it and feel. good luck
2 :
You won't get free housing, electricity, etc, etc in Australia. I don't know the qualification ins and outs. We desperately need nurses... but for friends of mine in nursing, it's definitely a labour of love, not cash reward. Rural areas especially are screaming for people. I'm in central NSW and the hospital here has an amazing array of nationalities in the nurses and doctors. It sounds as if the beginnings of a family will be easier where you are security wise. In saying that though, Australia is a great place to bring up kids. I guess you should make your decision based on future priorities.
3 :
What you dont understand is that while nurses are wanted NOW they are because there is a lack of qualified nurses in Australia. That is why this profession is listed as a migration career. The government is using qualified migrants to fill the hole until such time that there are enough home grown students to fill this gap and then nursing will no longer be a migration career. Given that the last two years, nursing has had the highest number of applications throughout every university in the country - in 2 years (December 2011) there will be more nurses in Australia then jobs. So if you need to get an 18 month top up degree you will be competing for these spaces in the nursing sector. 11K is for the degree but you will need to show (especially if your husband is coming) over 25K in cash to support yourself. On a student visa you will not have access to childcare subsidies or any support from the government. Currently there are lots of jobs in the country - but we are talking places where its a 4-6 hour drive on a high way until you reach a shopping centre. Where most of your shopping is done through mail order. Jobs in the cities are hard to get - there is the deman but not the money and since hospitals are government owned they have to pay the going rate and as such places are understaffed

I want to shift course. I don't want to take up Nursing anymore. Help me?
Well, I'm an incoming second year Nursing student. But I think I couldn't continue it anymore. Because its getting costy, in terms of tuition fee and books and everything. I want to take up Hotel and restaurant management since I'd like to work on hotels, and like to learn cooking and bartending perhaps. I'm also pretty good in Math, I can take up Engineering. But help me choose a course that could give me an oppurtunity to work abroad, like in Singapore perhaps. Help. I'm our class valedictorian when I graduated from highschool. Just thought this would come useful.

How much money is needed to live decently in california

How much money is needed to live decently in california?
Can a LPN (Licensed practical nurse) move from Oklahoma to California? I know the cost of living is more expensive in California, but I really can not live the rest of my life in this drab, bible beating state. I used to live in Australia, and I really really would like to live somewhere with beaches and sunshine. Some people suggested moving out of America to somewhere like Singapore. I think the culture change would be awesome to experience, but I am a little worried as I know nothing about the country. I don't know if its disease free, or the form of government they have, or how modernized it is (Please no offense to anyone from Singapore.). I heard it has beautiful beaches, and the cost of living is lower that america. Would a LPN make it in Singapore? Does anyone have an suggestions for countries or states that aren't outrageously hard to live in, but still have some life to them. My main interest is staying in America, so i'd like to know about places like California or Florida etc. Thanks for your time!

I live in the bay area, and while it is a great place to live its not worth the cost of living. If you are looking for beaches and sunshine I would definitely advise you to look at the LA/SD area. The bay area does have plenty of sunshine, but the winters are much cooler than many tourists expect (you will need a jacket) but the beaches are oftentimes socked in with fog and whatnot. As far as the financial status of the state its absolutely horrible and crime is widespread. A lot of people think California is this special place, but they are rudely mistaken. I'm 23 years old and can't wait to get out! The only great thing about here is the diversity (SF/Oakland/San Jose is in the top 3 most diverse metro areas in the US...along with Miami Dade and Long Beach)
2 :
Florida would be A LOT cheaper and you'll have LOTS of job opportunities there than in California. Plus, it really depends where in California. A teacher can barely make it in Los Angeles where in a smaller area, it may be possible.

HYPOCHONDRIAC PARANOIA? Please help

HYPOCHONDRIAC PARANOIA? Please help!?
Hello.. I actually asked this before but I think ppl misread or misunderstood my question. I actually went for a blood test at a polyclinic. I'm from Singapore by the way. So I was waiting for the nurse. But I did not see her take a new needle. She just inserted a needle into me, i didn't see whr she took it from or if it was a new needle. So now I am like worried. What if she didnt use a new needle? I think i am having HYPOCHONDRIAC PARANOIA? I keep thinking I'm gg to be infected with HIV/or other blood borne diseases because I'm nt sure if she used a new needle. It has been going on for a week now, I lost all my appetite, sleep, social life etc.. How do I stop thinking about it? It's like I keep worrying about it..should I worry bout it?

Usually when nurses come in to draw your blood or give you a shot, they do not put on a new needle in front of you. Usually this will be what freaks people out. But honestly unless you were in a 3rd world country when they drew your blood, I would not be worried.

Was the polyclinic in Singapore? Did you not have any concerns before she inserted the needle and could you not have checked that it was a new needle? You say you have had your symptoms for one week now, where are the results of the blood test? Surely getting them is the key to your problems? I really think you are worrying way too much. Correct me if I am wrong, but clinics, hospitals and all things medical are of excellent quality and the chance of this having happened is very remote. Go and get the blood test results or go back to the clinic and explain your fears. They are real enough and you have to confront them with those who you think are responsible. Otherwise you will just continue to carry this burden and drive yourself crazy.
2 :
I'm paranoid about alot of things too except its very minor and its just how i am, nothing medical. Look just let go of it enjoy life. If the doctors find out u hav HIV or something then that was just gods plan for u. Hope this helps
3 :
Okay, if she didn't use a new needle, she would have been in a lot of trouble. I have NEVER seen someone specifically pick out a new needle when they took my blood or gave me a shot, they just already had one there. They probably laid it out beforehand. What are the odds that it would even have a disease anyway? If you do get sick, which you won't, you could sue for a lot of money! You're obsessing about this, and that's not healthy. Do you obsess about things like this a lot? It's probably not hypochondria, you're just obsessing. If you do this a lot you may have obsessive-compulsive disorder.
4 :
Don't worry and calm down! You're not a hypchondriac if you don't worry about every single illness and disease going around. If she was a nurse, that the needle was most definitely clean and new. If it wasn't, it would have been sterilised before hand. Also, if you would have contracted something, you would have got it by now and you would be in A LOT worser state. I hope this helps x

any good advice

any good advice?
my sister recently passed the board examination (for nurses) here in the philippines.. then our parents keep on insisting that she should get an experience here in the philippines for 6 months then she should go to singapore to work there (they say its good for her career).. she's confused if its a good idea and i don't know what to advice her..

I think that will be great! (if your sister is ready to leave the country and this won't be very hard for her)
2 :
I suspec that thetwo countries have different ways of doing things so it would probably be a good experience as far as her career goes. It is her life. I live in Canada and I know that nurses from the Phillipines often have to do some retraining when they come here but I don't know if that is just receritifcation or if they need further training. However, does SHE want to do it?
3 :
She needs to make up her own mind about what she wants to do. However, getting experience is crucial for doing anything else.

I dont think so, useally those small mass or cyst were benign and they just need to be monitored every six months just to make sure that they are not growing into cancer cells. Just follow the requirements of the doctor if you need something to intake then just buy it.
2 :
It could or could not be anything, let the hospital do what need to be done,so you can get a clean bill of health.Â

Patient has cancer, family members requests not to disclose diagnosis, how am i liable ethically and legally

Patient has cancer, family members requests not to disclose diagnosis, how am i liable ethically and legally?
My patient has colorectal cancer, she has been told that her cancer is benign, and has been found out early, so theres no worry. her daughter, a nurse told her that. (but is malignant, and i'm the nurse in charge of her.) In an asian context, her daughter claimed that by revealing the diagnosis to her mother, she would "lose hope on living". Therefor, she has only been notified of a "benign tumor" and has underwent a colorectomy, which was to no avail, and now, is undergoing radiotherapy. I was the nurse who was asked to be the witness, for the consent of her colorectomy. Scenario - patient kept in dark about diagnosis, but still undergoes procedures, and signs consent. I am nurse in charge, witnessed consent, and not telling patient diagnosis (breech of patient's right at request of patient's daughter) I would like to know, "how screwed i am?" in other words, what are the legal, and ethical issues i am bound to given this scenario? scenario with regards to singapore context. Thx

I don't know about SIngapore, but in the US, withholding information from the patient is kind of a big deal.
2 :
I have a few questions..Is the daughter DPOA? Is the patient with dementia and unable to make her own decisions? I can't imagine not knowing my own diagnoses!
3 :
Well first of all in the nursing code of ethic we first and foremost have the duty to our patients above and beyond all else Provision !. Secondly unless the daughter is the MPOA then the patient has a right to know her prognosis, diagnosis, and all alternative treatment according to the laws of Informed Consent. Th epatient has a right to all this knowledge. I reccommend callign for an ethical consult Immediately as this is an unjustice to your patient, and you have the position of being advocate to your patient.
4 :
Personally,I wouldn't want my name on any papers as a witness if my patient didn't know their diagnosis.I think everyone has the right to know their prognosis. In nursing school, our instructor told us to never sign as a witness to anything, that is the families responsibility. The legal possibilities are too great if there are problems down the road. The daughter could very easily turn on you and say she never told you to not tell your patient her diagnosis.I would let the family sign as a witness, just to protect yourself.Everyone is so "sue" happy, you need to watch out for yourself.

what makes NYC so AMBITIOUS

what makes NYC so AMBITIOUS?
I need a direct linkage for the insane work culture here!!! At first I thought it came from London and Europe and its initial settlers. Can't be!! I've trained and been place on work projects in London, The Netherlands, Germany, Francais...Nothing compares to the NYC pace. Could it be an American phenomenon then? We have offices in LA, the South, and midwest. Whenever I visit these offices everything feels soooo sloooooooow, so that can't be it. Could it be Wall Street culture extension? Could be, but this work hard mentality seems to span ALL industries in Manhattan. Legal, Advertising, PR, Accounting, even Nursing. Hours worked here are much, much more, so that can only be a partial answer. NYC pays more than anywhere else? Quite possibly so, but some studies have shown competence doesn't always equal pay (look at DC for example, ha!). So that can't be the full story. Melting pot immigration? Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore are just examples that you don't need diversity to promote this type of ambition, so that's not it. So what exactly is the DIRECT reason for NYC's insane work hard (and thus, play hard) mentality if you could only pinpoint it to one historical event or influence? WHAT MAKES THIS TOWN SO DAMN AMBITIOUS?!?!?!

Are Filipinos really considered in US as Pacific Islanders and not Asians

Are Filipinos really considered in US as Pacific Islanders and not Asians?
Don’t be fooled at once by the title of the entry. The story behind that statement excludes us. Last year, a friend left the Philippines and went to the United States. In his German class, the students were international. The professor asked who the Asians were and one by one the Asian students introduced themselves. And so it went, the Chinese, the Koreans, the Vietnamese, the Singaporeans etc. all raised their hands. Finally the professor calls this Filipino and asks, Professor: Where are you from? Filipino: Philippines Professor: Oh, Filipinos are not Asians! They are Pacific Islanders! Because ASIANS ARE SMART… In the United States, it is already being taught in schools that Filipinos are not Asians—that we are Pacific Islanders. While there is a lot of reaction against it, I am surprised that many intelligent Filipinos abroad have accepted this without question. Pacific Islands are places like Samoa, Hawaii, Tahiti, Guam, Cook Islands, Mariana Islands—and their common denominator? Most of them do not possess their own national and political identities—they are islands under the jurisdiction and protection of more powerful countries like USA, France and New Zealand. Most of these Pacific Islands are still referred to as â€Å“indigenous natives.â€ They have very, very small populations and they have no global role or power. While they have their own unique culture and characteristics, they do not hail from any great civilization in the past. Hindi sila lumaban at tumayo para sa sarili nilang lahi. What is even sad, however, is that even Pacific Islanders do not like and do not accept Filipinos! One good example are Hawaiian tourists we met in China. When they learned that we were Filipinos, they disgustingly uttered , â€Å“You eat Balot!â€ and avoided us like a plague. The statement of this American guy, filled with racism obviously merits strong disapproval. In fact, our friend was so angry after having been humiliated in front of the class. The logical thing to say, is that the Philippines IS part of the ASEAN group of nations. We can also say that Japan is an island in the Pacific Ocean but is not considered a Pacific Island. But we should ask—why would no one dare to call the Japanese people Pacific Islanders? Why pick on the Philippines? Simple. Because Japan has produced cars and we have produced dried mangoes and pastillas. The Philippines has been so left behind by Asian countries that foreigners shake their heads and ask, â€Å“What happened to your country?â€ Let us not even compare the Philippines with the four Tiger economies, ‘cuz they’re just way way way too far ahead. What about Vietnam and Thailand? I read that for every one Filipino who has a Master’s Degree, Vietnam has 6, Thailand has 25 and Singapore has 200. But why bother to be educated when the national dream is to go abroad? We are scattered from Hongkong to Kazakhstan, from Italy to even North Korea. Thousands of our doctors are becoming nurses. Our teachers become caregivers. Our women become entertainers and prostitutes. Our young people only know one course and that is nursing. Why would foreigners respect us when we do not even respect ourselves? We are the country of Gucci Gangs—our elite own Picassos and they simply have no heart to alleviate and educate the masses, as F. Sionil Jose and Brian Gorrell—the pitiful Australian guy who was robbed by DJ Montano—sadly pointed out. I am reminded of Condoleezza Rice, the first black woman to become the United States Secretary of State. She was born in Alabama and suffered discrimination on account of her color. But she was taught from a young age by her father, that she had to be â€Å“twice as goodâ€and prove that she was deserving of advancement. Condoleezza Rice explains, â€Å“I was going to be so well prepared, and I was going to do all of these things that were revered in white society SO WELL, that I would be armored somehow from racism. I would be able to confront white society on its own terms.â€ (Washington Post, Lessons of Might and Right, How Segregation and an Indomitable Family Shaped National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, By Dale Russakoff, September 9, 2001) The only way to answer people, who insist that we are uncivilized tribes is not by shooting off our mouths. The only answer is to beat them by studying and working ten times harder than the rest—to beat them not just once or twice, but to do so consistently for the next 20,30, 40, 50 years. Unless we Filipinos are prepared to love our country, and sacrifice ourselves by doing the extra-mile, we really deserve to be called stupid. ~ Lipad-Lawin Source: http://www.thebrownraise.org

who cars really? people in this world are always trying to put a label on something
6 :
What does it matter? The Philippines is in Asia, therefore if you're Filipino you are Asian. It's pretty simple. Being smart or not has nothing to do with anything.
7 :
forgot to mention that Filipinos average the 2nd highest household income out of all asian groups in USA... 1st is Indians.
8 :
OK, first of all, expecting Americans to know the least little thing about geography is expecting way too much of them. I'm married to an African, from Ghana. I have encountered hundreds of people who think that Africa is a country, not a continent; several who've asked me if I went on a "safari" when I went to Africa, and whether or not my husband and kids speak "African" (there are 45 major languages in Ghana alone, not even looking at the other 55 countries on the continent). Anyway, the point is, most Americans are going to have a blank "What are you talking about" look when you try to discuss the Philippines. My doctor is from the Philippines. And I've had previous doctors from there. They are good doctors, esp. the one I have now. MY confusion about the Philippines has to do with a sort-of-Asian look to the people, but Spanish sounding names. And Tagalog doesn't seem to be a language like Chinese and Japanese, since it's written with Latin (Roman) characters. So from that perspective, I can see it being considered as a "Pacific Island" country as opposed to being a part of Asia.

Are there any organizations in the UK who can/will sponsor a person to come and work/study here?
I have a good friend who works as a domestic helper in Singapore, and she would like to come to the UK to either continue working as a domestic helper, or further the nursing training she is currently undertaking, with a view to working as a nurse here in the UK. I don't think she would be eligible to come here on a working visa because her current employer in Singapore would not be coming with her. Any help on this matter would be gratefully appreciated. if she is a qualified Nurse (that she is not), there are loads of nurses jobs available on NHS. Otherwise she can apply as a nursing student here and come to study & once finished she can start working as nurse. But for student visa she must be able to prove that she can pay the fee & has got enough money to support herself. OR if she is being sponsored by someone then he/she must be able to prove that.

Help! Hole in transparent retainers?
Hi there... I've been wearing retainers since jan this year. Currently, i wear it 6 times a week at night as per my dentist's instructions. But yesterday, i discovered a small hole in one of the molars on my top retainer. Does that mean i have to replace the whole top retainer? How much would it cost in Singapore because my dental nurse quoted me a whopping S$300 when i first received my retainers... also, am i wearing my retainers out too fast? Thanks! I have the transparent, plastic ones.

There are all sorts of health programs, from local, state, government, and major national plans. I cannot give you a straight answer for this question, but I can tell you that the best health plan you can get would be one from your place of work. If you are ineligible for any reason, then finding a plan can be very hard and very expensive. The only thing I know of that may help would be to check out ehealthinsurance.com. It is just a site that has a compilation of most of the major medical groups in the US. You input your information and criteria for a plan, and it gives you best matches for you. It's not an automatic in, however. You still have to apply for plans you choose, and each plan can reject you, but I find it to be the easiest and quickest way to find out what is out there.

This website has a listing of all the medical programs that are recognized by the Singaporean government. VERY IMPORTANT: You may attend any of these colleges, but you *must* attend the same college all the way through, from your first year until you are finished with medical school. That is about 7 or 8 years of school, depending on what you decide to specialize in (like pediatrics, internal medicine, or whatever) (remove all spaces from the following link or it won't work) http://www.smc.gov.sg/ html/115370 9442948.html In the meantime, while you are preparing for college, you should be taking as many science classes as possible, such as biology, chemistry, anatomy, as many as you can fit into your schedule. And don't take the easiest courses. Take the IB or AP level courses. You have to get really good grades all the way through high school to get accepted to a good college, and they don't want to see easy courses on your transcript. If you aim to be a doctor, they want to know you can handle the hard ones. Colleges invest a lot of time and effort into students, so you have to prove to them that you are worth it. I strongly recommend you improve your English skills as well, no matter where you go to college, because it seems that everybody is learning English, so it would make it easier for you to communicate with your patients. Doctors have to be extremely skilled communicators. Some other job options you might consider: Physician's Assistant and Nurse Practitioner. Hope this helps you!
