How much would an animator earn in Malaysia and/or Singapore

How much would an animator earn in Malaysia and/or Singapore?
Kay... it's like this. I'm a M'sian and I LUV luv luv luv LUV animation (2D & 3D)! I absolutely adore it! It's my passion and it's what I want to pursue in the future. My dream... like many other aspiring animators is to work in Pixar and Disney.... But of course I'm taking it one step at a time. So now... I'm preparing to go to college and I know what I want to take right? But the problem is that some of my relatives think that animation is not a suitable course because it doesn't make that much money.... and that animation is for school dropouts who have not much option left. They want me to take a broader subject like computer science, I.T., nursing, or multimedia cuz I will have more job opportunities and be safer money-wise. I know it's totally ridiculous(though I didn't tell them that, of course)... cause animators DO make good money and it's not some trivial-last-resort kind of job either..... it's hard work. Besides.... I'm not doing it for the money, I'm doing it because I LUV it... But they mean well, and I'm grateful for them. However, they did make one good point... that is M'sia does not have much job opportunities for animators as other countries such as Korea, and the U.S... M'sia is just beginning to discover the potential of animation. It will take years before they become (if they becum) an 'animation hub of the world.' So if I become an animator here after graduating I might just end up designing or animating web pages for various companies. If I want to find real work I have to go overseas which my parents can't afford. So I guess my question should be, "Can a Malaysian make a living being an animator in his own country?" I don't want to end up having to do some small job... I want to create characters, I want to put colors into new ideas, I want to make my stories come to life and share them with everyone! But I can't just follow my dreams and not get a single cent... because I have to help my other siblings fulfill their ambition too. Are my relatives right? Should I take a broader course just to be safe or should I put all my effort and passion into specializing in animation? Are there any M'sian animators reading this? HOW MUCH ARE YOU EARNING? Give me some proof that I can show my relatives that I can make a living being an animator in my own country. Help me pls. If I have no choice but to go overseas, Singapore is my best option. I heard that they have a universal studio over there. How much would I make in Singapore then? anyone?

you will earn around rm800-1200 if no projects going on.....under project(which depends on how big that project)rm1200-2500...not more or less...dont think of SG coz they hardly involve in animations...they know they are not pro in it so they gave up.....malaysia itz freakin rare to get employed in this field...only serious project was 'upin & ipin' where the animator earned rm2300 per month...unless your dad is rich and u wanna do a brand new project under you then u might earn HELL LOTZ OF MONEY!!

Do the guys in Singapore think that Singapore should introduce some form of national service for ladies

Do the guys in Singapore think that Singapore should introduce some form of national service for ladies?
The guys have to do national service 2 to 2.5 years in Singapore for the country...isn't it very unfair to the guys that the ladies who do not have to sacrifice get away free for two years? what do you guys think about some sort of national service for the ladies like community service to old folks homes and attachments to hospitals to learn some nursing skills as in real times of war...we would short of people to take care of the injured soldiers...or have army national service for ladies and cut down guys national service time... it would definitely also make ladies more complete and let them have a taste of being all the way below as some of them never experienced hardships...

My cousin who is a doctor, told me about this medical bookshop in bra basah centre (and it's not Popular). She was telling me a funny incident, but anyway, I am not sure which level it is in, that you will have to find out. There are alot of bookshops there that you can explore, just make sure you go before 6pm. Alot of them close shop at around that time. I am not sure about equipments and nursing stuff.

Which pressure groups in the UK are campaigning for the return of the death penalty

Which pressure groups in the UK are campaigning for the return of the death penalty?
I have enjoyed spending much time in Singapore and have marvelled at how people safely walk around at night and also how families leave their children in shopping malls whilst they go to the bank. In the UK this week we see the murder of a policewoman and also a man who stole credit cards from a nurse leaving her locked in a car boot for 10 days. Quite simply criminals have free reign in the UK as they know the law is soft. Let me know if you know groups Thanks Jon
Current Events - 2 Answers

1 :
The death penalty does not create a perfect, crime-free Utopia. We had capital punishment in the past. We abolished it for two major reasons. One being that mistakes are made. Another is that it is not a deterrent. Crime still happens. It is no accident that the 13 out of 50 US states which have no death penalty, also have the lowest crime, and the state which executes the most has the worst crime figures. No serious politicians in the UK wants it reinstated, and it would be contrary to our commitments under the terms of the European Convention on Human Rights, which the UK drafted and signed in 1950, against the rules of the Council of Europe, and the EU. The real reason for the apparent low crime in Singapore will be to do with cultural attitudes, not to how criminals are murdered. I suspect that far from being the crime free paradise you describe, Singapore does indeed have crime, murder, robbery and the like. Iraq, Sierra Leone, Angola, S Africa, Columbia, Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, Turkey, China, the US, and many more countries (in fact 85 countries in total) have a worse murder rate than the UK. Granted, Singapore has the second lowest official rate in the world. But how accurate is crime reporting there?
2 :
I'm cynical too, but I don't think the death penalty is murder, it's a duly rendered punishment by law.

Singapore's economy is in severe recession. They have sent a lot of foreign workers home. Many countries are getting rid of foreign workers due to high unemployment and deepening recession. The only two countries which have growing economies and are hiring are India and Brazil. Brazil has some needs for specialized workers such as petroleum engineers with deep sea drilling expertise, but has no great need of nurses (they have good nursing schools and plenty of Brazilians in need of jobs). China has laid off over 100 million workers who are desperate for work despite claims of great economic growth (7.9% latest). India needs nurses and is hiring.

Why must i do a IELTS test to register with WA nursing Board, as a Singaporean with Nursing Degree from Monash

Why must i do a IELTS test to register with WA nursing Board, as a Singaporean with Nursing Degree from Monash
I have done my Midwifery (18 months) in UK and a Registered Nurse in Singapore for many years. Is the Degree from Monash done as distance learning not equvilant to their campus study as claimed by them?? Have worked and studied in England and holding a degree from Australia Monash why do I need to do a IELTS test. Are we being discriminated as Singaporean Chinese or am I cheated of my degree? Please give me some sensible answers. Help!

Because that is what they "require." quit whining about it. Don't use "discrimination" as an excuse. Take the test just like everyone else has to do.
2 :
G'day, I understand it must be hard for you to be given such 'silly' conditions. You are from Singapore, and has done courses in English for quite sometime and yet still asked for IELTS test. I do not pretend to know the whole story here, but my guess is b'cos the board is afraid that generally applicants from Asia countries do not have a good English communication skill. It is not that the distance learning degree from Monash is deemed less qualified. Your qualifications are fine (I guess), it is just the English that they worry. Unfortunately I have to agree with the first answerer (altho not the way the person wrote it). It is best to give them their what they ask. If your English is good (which I truly believe it is), then you got no reason to worry. Please do not take it that it is discrimination, since I am sure they ask the same thing to Singaporean Indians as well. Good luck and welcome to Australia.

NCLEX Application of Filipino RN based in Singapore?
I'm already a registred nurse in the Philippines. but im wondering, i'd like to take the nclex exam the soonest. what are the process that i should do? do i really have to get back in Manila for my every transaction? or can i just do it here? what about for the NBI Clearance? school papers? pls help.
Higher Education (University +) - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
You have to apply for licensure as a nurse in one of the US states. Writing the NCLEX is just part of the licensing procedure. You will have to provide all the information they require first and they will decide if you are eligible to write the exam. Even if you pass and get a license you will have to wait a number of years to get a visa allowing you to work in the US.They will need all the transcripts from your education for evaluation. Contact the BON in the state you wish to work in.
2 :
First of all you have to choose a state to apply NCLEX, then check their requirements. Based on requirements of most states, yes, you have to process docs in the Philippines like request for your TOR and RLE summary, verification of your license in PRC, fingerprinting in NBI if required by the state, etc. You can check my site for NCLEX application. http://nurse.nonoy.net/

Spore is definitely in need of such personnel with this profession. However, I do not think that a tourist visa allows you to work? I doubt that it will be easy to find a temp job in such area. Unless you are thinking of a few months, then chances are higher
2 :
Nope i'm afraid you wont get a job by coming here as a tourist
3 :
You can't get a job anywhere on a Tourist visa! Its illegal and Singapore justice system is not one you would want to get into. They still use the stick! Don't even try! Apply for work before you leave and the company or organization should sort the right visa out for you. Check out singapore embassy's immigration policy to see how easy it will be for you.
4 :
the jobs you are seeking, generally requires you to submit your resume in advance. if shortlisted, they will arrange for an interview with you. it will be very difficult (almost impossible) to confirm any employment during your short stay as a tourist here. if you are really interested, a better way is to send in your resume to the companies/organisations you wish to work in, with your contact details and when you will be in singapore. if they are interested, they may arrange to meet you when you are here. good luck

Singapore Air and Air NZ prices are very similar (and low at present) so I was wondering whether anyone has any advice on which airline is best for comfort, legroom, facilities etc? Definitely Singapore Airlines. Service is great, food is great and in-flight entertainment is great. The airline has won numerous awards for its in-flight service. One of 5 or 6 airlines that received a 5 star rating on http://www.airlinequality.com. You can go to http://www.seatguru.com to find out seat width and pitch for the airlines.

What's the average pay of nurses with diploma

What's the average pay of nurses with diploma?
I am thinking of a career change from a sci lab tech to nursing. I presume the later provides a better opportunity in terms of career advancement and satisfaction. My current job is super routine with minimal interaction with people as well as zero opportunity of advancement. My colleague has been a lab tech for the past 35 years. I am thinking of persuing the accelerated diploma in nursing offered by nanyang polytechnic. However I am just curious about the pay scale of singapore nurses. And also I'm confused how the rank in the nursing industry is like. Eg: (ITE)cert in nursing- enrolled nurse (Poly)dip in nursing- registered nurse or staff nurse??? Deg in nursing-??? I'm quite clueless please enlighten me anyone....

Currently one may become a Registered Nurse by either an two year Associates Degree or a 4 year BSN. If you already have an AD, then check out colleges in your area that offer a BSN, since you're halfway there. Diploma programs for those people with college credit or an AD are a waste of time since the credit you've already earned and paid for can be applied to a four year degree. I'm not sure what you mean by "rank" in the nursing profession (not yet an industry). Most new grads today are starting at any where from $26-30 an hour..depending on where you live, and are also getting sign-on bonuses of $5-10 grand.

Some of the best nurses I have had were Singaporean. As an Australian who has lived and worked in 12 different countries I found the Australian 'Hospital trained' nurse good but not the more recent 'University trained' nurses. Singaporean nurses were excellent. Hong Kong nurses were also excellent. Thai nurses were fair. Lao, Cambodian, Malaysian and Indonesian were all poor quality.

There are no two opinions about it but if the nurses have the necessary academic qualifications they deserve to be styled as professionals.

Is it possible to work as an Enrolled Nurse in Australia while taking a part time nursing degree?
I planned to do that, but I realised that while the demand for Enrolled Nurses isn't high, it isn't easy to get a nursing job as an EN in Australia.. My main reason is to study a part time degree in Nursing and at the same time, work as an EN in any nearby hospital. I am from Singapore. It won't be easy, but anyone could give any information? thanks.

If you are an enrolled nurse you could apply for an agency and work through them. You will need to bring your qualifications with you and might have to do a conversion at TAFE. Enrolled nurses are trained through a TAFE degree (used to be through a hospital over 2 years), so its something you still need qualifications for.

I am a filipino and fresh graduate... How can i get job in Singapore

I am a filipino and fresh graduate... How can i get job in Singapore?
I am a filipino and fresh graduate in electrical engineering here in the Phil.. My wife is a nurse working for almost six months now in Singapore and I also want to work there but most of the job posting says that for SINGAPOREAN only..

Being a fresh graduate, your chances are quite slim for engineering positions in Singapore. Nevertheless, you can try applying thru local agencies or job portals in Singapore. If you are able to stand out from the crowd, an employer might hire you and get you a legal permit to work in Singapore.
2 :
nothing wrong with locals coming first
3 :
fresh graduate does not mean a guarantee job in singapore context; there r many singaporean fresh graduate also looking for jobs; so it will be harder 4 u 2 compete with them; generally, singapore employers r looking 4 experience in all kinds of jobs so what i would suggest u is to work in ur country 4 some years b4 applying for job here; from my experience even jobs like car wash, dishwashing also need experience; i went 4 these jobs interviews n the interviewers said they preferred with experience;
4 :
if every graduate did actually stick to his own place and land you wouldn't need to go to Singapore in the first place. since qualified people like yourself run like rats off sinking ship sure nothing will ever change for better in your country. plus people like you will put extra strain on already troubled job market in Singapore that as previous comments suggest is already under great pressure and not every local (Singaporean) graduate is able to get job placement (you might get a lower pay but you will take a job that should belong to a LOCAL guy or girl) you should respect Singaporeans for allowing your wife to work there but it seem that you are willing to take off the whole hand when you already got a finger.

Singapore - private nursing only $800 to $1000

Singapore - private nursing only $800 to $1000?
Many families of bedridden family members in Singapore look to nursing home for help, or they rely on maids for assistance. Nursing home is very expensive (S$1500 to S$3000) while maid is just not qualified. Private nursing is the best option. Many thought it is very expensive. No lah. At the right place, the monthly expenses to upkeep a private nurse is only S$800 to S$1000. As long as you can pass the certification test
2 :
Nurses always seem to be in short supply. Get a degree from a respected nursing school, and you should be in good shape. Talk to the US consulate or embassy in Singapre.
3 :
You would need to apply for a nursing license and they would assess your education and experience to decide if you were eligible to write the NCLEX exam. If you pass the exam you will get a nursing license. You also have to get a Green Card and that takes several years.
4 :
There has been no nurse visas available in the US since 2006 ... POTUS wants just home grown .. which is far better
5 :
You should apply for a US Visa.

My boyfriend is working in the US as a nurse. While Im here working in Singapore under Spass.?
we wanted to get married but we don't know what option to take that will make me stay in US permanently.. should we go back to Philippines and get married there? or shall I go to US and well get married there.. wihich is easier? btw..my bf isnt US citizen yet

come to the US. its great here
2 :
Unless your bf is a U.S. citizen, you should apply for your own green card to immigrate here permanently (permanent resident alien status). Once he is a citizen, you can marry and your status will be permanent as long as you remain married. You each can pursue both independently at the same time. It doesn't matter where you marry as long as it is a legal marriage in that country.
3 :
It is easy to get marry but it is not easy to apply for a green card in USA. It will take from 2-10 years to get a green card if you are not applying by marrying a US citizenship. Since your boyfriend is working in USA now, he can actually start applying his green card ASAP without wasting time. If you are in nursing, it is a career in demand in USA especially in California. So it will not be a problem for you to get a job once you are here. You can get marry anywhere in the world as long your marriage is genuine. But make sure you both register your marriage first before applying for your green card. Good luck!

Do something more worthwhile with your life instead of settling in sedated Singapore. Have you thought of China. You can teach English there. Their medical knowledge is so rudimentary. You can help change their mindset. Their first line of treatment for flu is the intravenous drip. Hospital X-rays are taken with Russian era equipments and everyone are qualified to interpret X-rays. Hospitals vie with each other and advertise for meds students on prime-time TV. Stay away from the abortion wards. You don't want to know what happen there.

You will need a license issued in America to be a nurse in America. It will involve testing and showing skill levels. The license will dictate which level of nursing you will be allowed to practice.

As for the USA, I don't think so. I knew this lady who got her nurses degree in Germany...then married a US soldier, so he brought her over to the US with him. She couldn't work as a nurse with her German degree because the US has certain licensing laws. She had to go back and get her GED (degree equivalent to a high school education in the US) so she could get accepted into a US college, then start over from scratch on getting her US nursing degree...I am not sure on CA and Aust.

Hello, If you are a registered nurse in Singapore, you can apply for a job in US, provided you meet the min. requirements, i.e. the NCLEX and IELTS exams. These are a must and a nurse can only get a job in US with these exams. Of course, you can also go there with CGFNS + IELTS exams, but you can work with CGFNS only as a LPN and the salaries for LPNs are very low. I can provide you with the applications and study materials for both these exams. Please let me know if you are interested. Regards. Bens globalbens@yahoo.com

If your not a citizen (US) you need a visa ect. You can get one to go to school, for certification while you work. You can apply then for citizenship (US).
